Importance of Time Management

If you are reading this section you probably are aware of the importance of time management and are ready to take control of your time.

Why is Time Management Important?

Time is a precious: Time is a special asset and it can not be preserved, but it can be managed to work to your advantage. Time management may not produce more hours in a given day but it can increase the possibilities of accomplishing your goals and feel more in control. Controlling your time and realistically structuring your schedule can help you become more effective and productive.

Time is yours to spend: Time is a resource given to you unconditionally, what you do with it makes the difference on how effective, creative and successful you are. Recognizing the importance of time management will help you use your time wisely and allow your goals drive your activities.

Good Time management equilibrates greatness at work with greatness in leisure. Our lives become healthier, with less stress and more joy and fulfillment.

Time Management is a skill: You can learn how to manage time. There are plenty of tips, tools and programs out there that can help you master the skill and improve it. Time management requires a commitment to change old habits and create new "good" ones,
discipline, self-assessment, consistent planing and monitoring.

Time must be leveraged: Time management is not just about managing your day or your schedule effectively. You must be able to visualize and look at the big picture in order to strategize and use your time intellectually. A mentoring book from Harvard Business School advices: "Leverage your time to manage it". Prioritize and channel your energy and resources towards goal-oriented tasks.
